Venus Flytraps are a protected species. Not only is it bad gardening etiquette to uproot them, but it is also a felony. Be mindful when deciding to pick flowers and plants from their natural habitat in general.

  1. Stealing Kitchen Grease

If you ever thought about taking a restaurant's kitchen grease from their dumpster, think again. Large quantities of the grease can be used to make biodiesel. This seemingly harmless act can lead to a felony. Now that's greasy business.

  1. DWI on a Horse?

In North Carolina, a horse is still considered a mode of transportation. You can be charged with a DWI for being on a horse while intoxicated. So, in other words, the reins are not a suitable replacement for keys on a night out, cowboy.

  2. Playing Bingo for too Long

If you are offering prizes or money during your bingo game, be careful. Organizations that host these events must follow strict guidelines. Such as how many sessions per week they can host and how long each session can last.

  3. Collecting Pine Needles

Pine straw is a hot landscaping commodity in North Carolina. So if you are going on a nature walk, think again before picking some up to decorate your yard. Taking pine needles from state parks or private property can lead to serious offenses, with the intention of deterring theft of natural resources.
